    KJZC 90.5 FM signs on.  Format:  Jazz, Blues, Western Swing & other types of music.  Studios & offices: Chadron State College campus.  Transmitter: Shares space on the KCNE (Nebraska Educational Telecommunications) tower, south side of Chadron, at West 16th & Maple Streets. Owned by Jazz Birds (Professor Sandy Schaeffer).

  • 2011

    Station upgrade to 865 watts at 121 feet atop Kent Hall on Campus, 1050 Shelton Street in Chadron.

  • 2015

    Station is donated to the school.  Voluntary assignment by Jazz Birds (Dr. Sandy Schaefer and Professor Kathleen Kirsh) to Chadron State College.

    “Chadron State College Radio” programming:  non-commercial educational and public affairs programming, and will offer on-air and production opportunities for its students, and opportunities for faculty to provide programming content in areas of expertise including art, music and theater.
