    July 1, 2006-  KKJK signs on with  100,000 watts at 640 feet.  Owner:  Community Radio, Inc.
    Studios/offices at 3205 W. North Front Street, Grand Island, NE.  Transmitter: 1 mile east of 145 & Sioux Roads in Gibbon, NE. 16.4 miles south-southeast of Ravenna, 22.8 miles west-southwest of Grand Island.

    Station delivers a strong signal in Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney.  Owner- Community Radio, Inc. (Alpharetta, Georgia) which won the station in the FCC Auction No. 37.  Local Marketing Agreement signed with Legacy Communication’s GI Family Radio, owned by Grand Island Mayor (at the time) Joseph Jay Vavricek.   Donald Wilks, President.  Alan Usher, General Manager.

    Format Rock and roll as “Thunder 103.1”

    Legacy Communications exercises its option to purchase the station for $1.15 million. Sale is completed  in March, 2010.
