    1978-  KFAH FM signs on at 92.1, 3,000 watts at 300 feet.  Studios/transmitter located at 221 E. 3rd Street in Alliance.   Owner:  Fortner-Hill Broadcasting.   Quiven Fortner, President; Robert V. Hill, General Manager.    Format:  MOR

  • 1982

    August 1982-Fortner-Hill Broadcasting (Quiven Q. Fortner and Robert V. Hill, 50% each) sells to Someland, Inc. (owned equally by Judy A. Wilson, Melvin Sauer, Viril W. Davis, Judith K. Drown, and Clara P. Petersen) for $325,000.  Wilson is an account executive, Sauer is the operations manager, and Davis is the assistant manager, all at KOLT, Scottsbluff.

    Call letters are changed to KPNY “Pony”  (Owners have a financial interest in KOLT, Scottsbluff.)   Format is changed to Adult Rock.  Roger Gelder is named General Manager.

  • 1988

    Someland Inc. (Judy Wilson, President) sells to Halstead Communications Inc. (Leon Halstead) for $140,000.  Upgrade with frequency change to 102.1, 100,000 watts at 522 feet from a new transmitter location 14 miles west of Alliance, NE at the intersection of Otoe Road and County Road 74.  Construction Permit for the upgrade was first filed four years earlier and presumably was part of the package sold to Halstead, who performed the upgrade.  Format:  automated CHR from the Satellite Music Network.  Leon Halstead, President; Lee Hall, General Manager.

    Format adjustment to Hot Adult Contemporary from the Satellite Music Network.

    Adds ABC network.

    July 7, 2006-  Station goes silent.

  • 2007

    Halstead Communications sells to Mission Nebraska (My Bridge Radio) for $360,000.  KPNY returns to the air on February 7, 2007.  My Bridge ownership in equal shares:  Ron Brown, Stanley A. Parker, David Chally, Mike Hoefler, Patrick McNair and David O’Doherty, who also own KROA FM and KMMJ AM in Grand Island.   Format:  Religious

    February, 2013- Upgraded to a new frequency of 102.3 at 1,352 feet (still at 100,000 watts) from a new transmitter site 21 miles southwest of Alliance, near the intersection of county roads 119 and 101.
