  • 1953

    February, 1953- signed on as Channel 12, DuMont network affiliation.

    August, 1953- John Fetzer purchased from Cornhusker Radio and Television.  Moved KOLN to Channel  10 (former KFOR-TV).  Gave channel 12 to the University of Nebraska (KUON).

  • 1954

    Became an ABC affiliate.

  • 1955

    Switched to CBS affiliation when KETV launched as an ABC affiliate in Omaha.

  • 1961

    October 1, 1961- KGIN went on the air as a satellite of KOLN.

  • 1984

    Gillette purchased from Fetzer.

  • 1987

    Busse Broadcasting purchased from Gillette.

  • 1998

    Gray Communications purchased from Busse.

  • 2004

    UPN launched as the first sub-channel for KOLN/KGIN on DT2.

  • 2006

    September, 2006- UPN switched to MyNetwork TV.

  • 2009

    August, 2009- KOLN/KGIN became the first station in Nebraska to launch full local Newscasts in HD.

  • 2013

    April, 2013- NBC programming from the former KHAS added to KOLN/KGIN as a susb-channel for full market coverage.

    September, 2013- METV affiliation added to become a MEMY.

  • 2020

    January, 2020- KOLN, Beaver Crossing tower collapsed.  New tower rebuild planned for same site.
