    May 19, 1979-  KSDZ signs on at 30,000 watts at 310 feet.  Owner is Heritage Broadcasting Company, Inc  (Renee L. Adkisson 50% , Larry Rice (20%), Gil Poese (26%).  Rice has an interest in KBRB, Ainsworth, NE and KBRX, O’Neill, NE  as does Poese. Adkisson serves as Office Manager, Bookeeper, On air personality at KBRB, Ainsworth.   Studios/office/transmitter located 3 miles west of Nebraska Route 27 on U.S. Highway 20, Gordon, NE.   General Manager is James R. Lambley.   Heritage Broadcasting located at 306 West 5th Street, Ainsworth, NE. (KBRB).

  • 1991

    December 26, 1991-  Station is sold by Heritage Broadcasting Co to DJ Broadcasting, Inc for $190,000.  Buyer is headed by James R. Lambley.

  • 1997

    KSDZ receives a power upgrade from 30,000 to 60,000 watts.

  • 2009

    The FCC renewed the license of KSDZ dismissing an informal objection from a reverend who didn’t like the way the station handles funeral announcements.  The FCC said stations are not required to broadcast funeral announcements and are not required to broadcast everything that is offered or suggested to them.

  • 2015

    June, 2015-KDJL 99.5 FM Kilgore-Valentine is on the air, rebroadcasting sister station KSDZ 95.5.   KDJL is 25,000 watts at 285 feet from a tower north of Valentine.  It replaces translator K258AI 99.5 which had relayed KSDZ into Valentine.  D J Broadcasting won the CP for 99.5 with a $2,500 bid in a 2013 auction and moved it from Rosebud, SD to Kilgore, NE.
